Medical Massage Level 1:Insurance Billing & Practice Building: (Day 1)You will learn:'Insurance Billing and Practice Building' enables the students to effectively work within the medical community and develop a client and physician referred practice. The proven strategies and techniques for dealing with personal injury cases, workman's compensation, and private insurance will enable the therapist to effectively receive reimbursement. The students will learn how to document treatments using a SOAP format and communicate effectively with insurance claims adjusters and referring physicians. Also included in the program is a manual which includes all the forms necessary to perform the billing process as well as all relevant billing codes. 6 CEUs
A Day of the Back: (Day 2)You will learn:'A Day of the Back' begins with principles and theory of medically oriented massage therapy followed by hands on demonstrations and student exchanges. Students will learn how to effectively assess and treat conditions such as, Lumbago, Sciatica, Pseudo Sciatica, Sacral and Coxygeal Pain, Scoliosis, Lordosis, Kyphosis and numerous postural distortion patterns effecting the back. 8 CEUs
A Day of the Neck: (Day 3)You will learn:'A Day of the Neck' focuses on the assessment and treatment of conditions effecting the anterior and posterior neck. Whiplash, Torticollis, Cervical Strain and Range of Motion Limitations, will be addressed in this hands-on seminar. 8 CEUs
Medical Massage Level 2:Understanding Postural Distortion: (Day 1)You will learn:'Understanding Postural Distortion' begins with in depth study of postural distortion, and the role it plays in creating pain, trigger points and dysfunction. Included is a review of the three cardinal planes, medical terminology, ideal posture, faulty posture and which muscles contribute to these patterns and how they can be corrected. The student will be able to observe postural distortion patterns and be able to immediately determine where treatment is needed. Distortion patterns such as Short Leg Syndrome, Scoliosis, Kyphosis, Lordosis will be addressed. Students will have the opportunity to be evaluated individually. 6 CEUs
Lower Extremities: (Day 2)You will learn:'Lower Extremities' focuses on the assessment and treatment of lower extremity conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendinitis, Medial and Lateral Shin Splints, Ankle Sprains and Strains, Patello femoral Pain Syndrome, Chondromalacia patella, Piriformis Syndrome and various others. Students will develop specific palpation skills in these hands-on workshops. 8 CEUs
Upper Extremities: (Day 3)You will learn:'Upper Extremities' focuses on the assessment and treatment of conditions of the shoulder, arm and hand. Conditions include Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Medial and Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis and Golfer's Elbow) , DeQuervain's Syndrome, Rotator Cuff injuries, Adhesive Capsulitis and various strain and sprain conditions. Students will develop specific palpation skills in these hands-on workshops. 8 CEUs
